In the early hours of August 19, a devastating fire in the “Tsarkva” district of Pernik consumed 37 vehicles, including 28 unregistered ones, in a parking lot.
The blaze, which began around 1:30 a.m., has caused extensive damage to the area, with the cause under investigation and suspected to be arson.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire via emergency number 112, prompting an immediate response from local authorities. Police and three teams of firefighters arrived at the scene to combat the rapidly spreading flames.
Despite their prompt action, the fire led to significant destruction, including the complete loss of the parking lot, which covered an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Additionally, two vans were destroyed in the blaze.
Fortunately, the fire did not spread to nearby buildings or other vehicles, and small equipment in the vicinity was spared from the destruction.
